  1. Same boat.  I have a dachshund who is ready, too.  No need for the vet.  Too much of moving her around screws with the birthing process.

They just lay there until they're ready.  As long as she's eating, everything is normal.  You might see her panting when the time comes, but every birth is different.

  2. you can safely wait up to 70 days and if she still has shown no sign of delivering then the kittens might have to be removed by cesarean section...if she carries them too long its very likely that some of them will be stillborn and she may get sick too...its would have still been ok to spay her right after she got out and got preg because the spaying would have taken care of it so now you have to find a home for these kittens or put them in a pound...and add to the overpopulation...because i know you're not planning to keep them all...but leave her in the room with her kittening box and check on her momentarily to see if shes shows any signs of having them...my moms cat got out while she was in heat too...but she fought the male cat that tried to mate with her for some reason...give her a warm place to relax but keep an eye on her...if she stops eating get her directly to the vet as she could be getting sick from holding her kittens too long...she'll probably be ok...but after that 70th day its best to take her to the vet to have them removed by cesarean section

  3. Your kitty is very close to birthing.

If you search thru www.ask.com, and ask "how many days for a cat pregnancy?" you can confirm that the dates for possible birthing can have a range of about a week--if you're counting from the correct day.

My two young female cats had 19 kittens combined last summer.  They got fixed last winter.

She might like a bit of a scratch behind the ear.  That always helps   ;-)

  4. cats can be pregnant from between 63 and 72 days she will have them when she is good and ready. i slept in the same room as my queen as she got closer she went over due from 63 days she was due 17 april finally gave birth on 21st april(last year). please give her until 72 days or there abouts and stay with her she is possibly scared to give birth on her own as she may need help (my queen had six kittens and the last two she was too tired to clean and eat the afterbirth so we had too intervene) don't shut her up as it will make her more scared and she might come too harm. get her spayed as soon as you can after the birth.   my queen was mated the day before she was due to go in for her spay.

  5. It is difficult isn't it. You may have to take her back to avoid her getting stressed. If she has made her space ready to have the kittens then she is obviously wanting some time alone. She will be crying because she is distressed. Most cats in the last few days of pregnancy get like this.. If your vet wants you to go back in a few days then do it. Just keep her comfortable as much as you can. It is uncomfortable enough with women having one baby, imagine have 3 or 7 inside you waiting to come out! She sounds like she is handling it well, just try to be supportive. Good luck with the little kitties, they will be here soon.
