They are pretty good size. I usually cook them in the microwave, but I would like to try a different way. Thanks for your help.

  1. do not wrap in foil,as this effectively traps in steam thus steaming the potatoe not baking it,just place in a 400 degree oven for about an hour for average size potatoes, little longer for bigger size.they should be soft all the way through when pinched or with a knife.

    good luck

  2. For large potatoes wrapped in foil, I would suggest 45 min to an hour at 375 degrees.  Check them by sticking a sharp knife in them; you can tell if they are soft enough yet.

  3. If you bake a potato (one larger than your fist) it should take upwards of an hour. A good way to check them is by feel. When they are done, they will have a slight "squish" to them, and they will no longer be hard. Remember to poke holes in them, or they go BOOM.

  4. Wrap them individually in foil and bake them for about an hour at 350

  5. 350 F for 45 minutes to an hour and 10 minutes.  45 min for medium, or 1 hour (plus?) for large.

    ***** PS *****

Pierce 3 or 4 times with a fork after you wash them.  Then bake.

  6. Scrub the potatoes, DO NOT wrap in foil, that only steams the potato.  Place on oven rack at 400.  Check for doneness at one hour.

  7. If you are trying to do roast potatoes, par boil them for around ten minutes, smother them in butter, shove in the oven and cook at a pretty high heat for another twenty minutes. Whilst you are doing this, you can also do carrotts, parsnips and swedes in the same way... yummy....

  8. cook or bake?
