  1. You mean a Galapagos tortoise?  Some people estimate over 300 years.  Turtles don't seem to grow "old" like other animals and they never actually stop growing.  It might be possible that turtles don't actually have lifespans per se and just live until the odds of probability catch up to them-be it illness, injury, or malnutrition.  I haven't heard of anyone analyzing turtle telomeres (the part of DNA that causes aging as they degrade) so there I wouldn't be able to say for certain.

  2. 100-200 years

  3. longer than you, i believe 125 years

  4. The oldest well-documented Galapagos was 125 years old, and probably older than that since it was well-grown before being captured.

Most other 'records' are iffy due to poor documentation. That is the big problem- how do you keep track of records like this for over a hundred years reliably?

It is estimated that they regularly get to 100, sometimes hit 150, and MAY hit 200 once in a while, especially in captivity. However, 300 is not completely unrealistic- we just don't know for sure.

  5. up to 188 years

  6. apparently more than a century, check this info out
