Contact the housing agency in the county in which you live for further information.  Be advised that many areas have lengthy waiting lists for Sec. 8 vouchers.  The funds are limited, and are awarded as openings occur.  In some areas, the wait lists are so long that applications have been suspended.

Depends on the waiting list. I knew someone that was trying to get section 8 and the waiting list was over a year long in her area. Some states also don't have a large inventory of section 8 housing available.
