How long to keep Sprinklers on?

I was wondering how long every one else keeps there sprinklers on each zone. Right now i have all my zones set to 25 minutes every other day. And i know that im suppose to give my lawn an inch of water per week....but i was just wondering how long other people leave there sprinklers on for.

Your water bill must be very high. No need to water every-other day. 25 minutes is also too long. I water mine twice a week for 20 minutes each station. My lawn is green and plush. Live near Dallas, TX. and the summers are very hot.

Were your sprinklers installed by a landscaping professional? If so, they set up your timer to turn on just for the right amount of time your lawn needs. This really does depend on what kind of climate and area you live in.

Lawns need about 1" of wate per week.  Set out a tin can, tuna fish, etc and turn your sprinkler on for 30 minutes.  If you have more or less than 1/2" adjust your time rate and set to repeat 2 times per week.

25 is about what i set mine for every day if it's really hot we got the greenest lawn in town ///
