i got a tattoo done 3-4 week back...it scabbed & healed in 2 weeks.

i had been moisturising it with cocoa butter & it was fine.

i have still been doing it after it healed ,1-2 times a day.

should i stop? or will it make my tattoo light..coz its looking just a bit lighter since 3-4 days?thanks!

also would it be ok for me to wax over an area tht is tattoed? how long should i wait for waxing after gettin a tat?

  1. you should be ok to stop now. I used Tattoo Goo (sold at most tattoo shops) for 2 weeks on my newest tattoo, and it's been 4 yrs, still looks like the day I had it done.

waxing, if it's healed up, wax away.

  2. as for the moisturizing, wait until the tattoo has completely stopped scabbing. if this process has not happened yet please use a & d ointment. it is GREAT. and about the wax, wait until the tattoo is completely healed for optimal results.

  3. moisturize tattoos your whole life or until you get them removed.

dry tattoos look bad and fade

moistrize them daily and theyll keep color longer.

    white non scented lotion only.

  4. waxing- wait a month till the skin is totally healed.

as for moisturising. you should do it for the life of your tattoo. it helps it to look it's best.

i have had my first one since i was 18yo and i'm 30 now. i still put lotion on all of my tattoos. and, when i remember, i put sun block on them.

    esp the new ones.

  5. You only need to moisturize it until the scab comes off by itself. You can still put something on it after that, to help give it that 'just done' look, but that's entirely up to you. As for waxing, you are good to go. Enjoy your new ink!

  6. use sunblock with vitamin E so it wont fade It is ok to wax, if it is healed
