If you bought a brand new car, the dealer submitted your paperwork to the state DMV who will then issue you a title, or send the title to your lender if you took out a loan.

If you bought a used car, you should have gotten the title then and there, unless again you bought from a dealer and took out a loan. If you are waiting for an individual to send you a title, you're taking a big chance. You might get it fine; you might have problems. Stay on top of the person.

If you bought it from a dealer and paid cash, you should see the title within 30 days.  If you bought it from an individual, you should have received it at the time the cash left your hand.
