  1. 7 very long years and that goes for the co signer as well.

  2. Any and all adverse information will stay on your credit report for 7-7 1/2 years, unless it is a Bankruptcy and they stay on for 10 years.

  3. seven years!!!

  4. The 7 1/2 year rule is the basic, it could also wind up on your credit report for a much longer time:

Example, say the creditor files suit in court to seek judgment for ballance due and say you fail to show up and loose by default.

Under the FCRA, it is now considered as the following:  Information about a lawsuit or an unpaid judgment against you can be reported for seven years or until the statute of limitations runs out, whichever is longer.

In some states, the staute of limitations on a judgment is 20 years and some states can renew the judgment every 10 years.

So if they sue, it will be on your credit report untill the judgment has been setteled.

    Hope this answers your question
