  1. The contributory parent visa (subclass 143) is for people willing to contribute an extra application fee to cover health costs. Also, the applicant must meet the balance of family test.

People who can apply for this visa are those with children that are Australian citizen / permanent resident. The applicant must have more children settled in Australia than any single overseas country, or at least half of the applicant’s children settled in Australia.

Processing time generally takes 9 to 12 months, with approximately AU $31,555 to contribute.

You can see other requirements here http://www.nationalvisas.com.au/parent/v...

    Hope it helps :)

  2. There is currently no queue for the contributory parent category, but there are only a limited number of visas that can be granted in a Migration Programme year. In the 2007-08 Programme year, within the contributory parent category, there are 3500 visa places in total available for both offshore and onshore applicants. Go to the Queue Calculator on the following page if you have already lodged an application - http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/family/p...

If the application is for a Contributory Aged Parent (Residence) visa (subclass 864), the 1st instalment cost is $2060 and the 2nd instalment cost is $31,555 + health examinations the cost of which will vary from country to country.
