  2. 4-9 months. My sister that migrated from Jamaica in Feb 2008 is still waiting on her green card. The immigration officer stamp something in her passport in which she can travel on it for a year.

  3. Depends on,

-- What type of visa (employment, family, etc)

-- What category of visa within the type (e.g. employment has 5+ categories, family has 6+ categories)

    -- Your current nationality

    and most importantly ....... LUCK!

  4. It depends on what sort of visa you used to come here. It can take from 9 months to never. I am here on an H-1B and the immigration lawyer figures about three more years for me.
