How long to you have to wait to get ur license in nyc..?

okay so i havent been takin any tests yet..

but i wanna get my license n stuff and my birthday is coming up...

the thing is that my friends tell me i gotta take a permit test first..

so how long does it take after u take ur permit to get ur license..

because i wanted to take a road trip with my friends before school starts..

i tried looking online but i cnt really find any info..

so please help

Here are the basic steps:

(1) go to DMV and pick up driver manual

(2) study

(3) go back and take the written test - pass

(4) with the learner's permit practice driving

(5) you might have to take the 5 hour class

(6) take the road test - pass

(7) be happy.

Some states require a minimum waiting period before taking the road test (mostly 6 months).

Don't hold your breath.  With junior license you are sever driving restrictions EVEN if you get your license.
