Question:

How long until I can have my first fight?

I'm just wondering how long it will take for me to get good enough to have my first competitive fight as a kickboxer.

I've been group training 3 times a week for a month now, and also do cardio and strength by myself.

So, I was just looking for a rough estimate from anyone out there who has become a fighter or is a trainer, approximately how long it should take before I'll be good enough to get in the ring?

  1. You can fight when ever you want the question you need to ask your self is how long do you need to train to give yourself tyhe best chance of winning.  That all comes from how well you are takeing the training. I trained two months in jujisu and I took a fight and got a woopin recooped and fought the next month and whip it.  Sometimes it takes a lose to get in the grove to figure out what your doing wrong but I still rushed and I shouldn't have.  I would say a year would be a good time to train and then take a fight.

  2. you can enter the ring when you have the confidence to defeat your opponent.

  3. u own trainer usually decides if he thinks ur ready, and before u have a realy match ur proably going to have a few smokers, (practice matchs with guys from other gyms), i could be  6 months or more then a year , it depends on how he thinks ur doing ,
