  1. Never ever give the dog a rawhide again.  I gave my dog one and he swallowed the knot.  Luckily I was able to stick my hand down his throat and pull it out.

You will probably notice symptoms within a few hours, whether the dog is throwing up, diarrhea, acting strange, etc.  How long has it been since the dog ate it?

Edit: Okay, 12 hours is fine without showing symptoms.  It will take any where from 24-48 hours to get out of her system, but if she is doing okay now it should not cause any harm.  So relax, no more worrying!

Also, even though it's gross, bully sticks are a great replacement for rawhides.  My dog loves them and hasn't had a problem with them!  Best of luck.

  2. As long as your dog is eating, drinking, pooping, peeing and otherwise acting normally he should be fine.

If he quits eating, starts straining to poo with no result, becomes lethargic or otherwise 'just not himself' consult the vet.

  3. it should pass within less than 2days, more like 24hrs since the dog ate it. most dogs take a p**p twice a day if they are fed twice a day.
