I bought a Dunkin Donuts Coffee this morning and then came back home. I took a few sips but forgot to bring it to work with me. I want the coffee but don't want to go back out to DD to get one. Is this safe to reheat and drink?

  1. If it has cream and sugar in it, dump it for sure, because the cream has probably spoiled. If it's just black coffee, it can be reheated safely in a pan, but the flavor will be off. The essential oils that make the coffee tasty and good for you will have destabilized. It still would retain the caffeine content, however!

  2. We change our coffee every hour for freshness but if it has cream in it, it should not be unrefrigerated for more than and hour or two

  3. In half a day? I think it should be ok to drink. I would zap it in the microwave and drink it.

  4. The flavor of coffee comes from the oils in it. The oils go bad (spoil)  2 weeks after the coffee is ROASTED. The coffee gets to these major chains (DD, starbacks, etc.) months after the coffee was roasted. So, the coffee you have is already bad, that is why it makes you do a #2. Anything that is spoiled will to that to u. I guess at this point, yeah, u can reheat your coffee. Just make sure that you get it hotter than 141 degrees. That will kill whatever bacteria might have grown while it was luke warm. I am sorry if I sound like a jerk. I don't mean to.

    Good luck
