Hey I just got a new kitten and my male cat has taken very well to her not hissing or being mean or anything. The only problem is he wants to play with her 24/7, and he plays quite rough, i often seperate them out of fear that he may hurt her. My question is how long before my male cat stops trying to play with the feamle all the time and just realaxes with her and plays when both want to.

  1. Well how old is the male? He may still be a kitten at heart himself. I think you can do play sessions.. at least until the kitten is less stressed playing so much, kittens need a LOT of SLEEP!! GOOD LUCK

  2. He's fixed, right?

Kittens can take some pretty rough play from other cats.  I would leave them unless she starts yowling.  He'll settle eventually.  I think it's kind of sweet an older cat wants to play all the time.

  3. They will be fine. As long as the kitten does not seem to be in any stress, leave them be. He is just realy happy to have a new friend. Its like all his christmas's have come at once.

If the kitty gets tired, seperate them, if not, leave them. Kitty gets picked on, seperate them, if not, leave them.

They will be fine, the novelty of a new friend will ware out soon so dont worry!!!

    Hope this helps, Jane.
