I had a game yesterday for summer-league basketball i was a fast break when i left my feet i was tackled down by a defender and shook up pretty bad i got up feeling fine but pain got worst as i played the rest of the game without break, but throughout the game i was tripped 2 more times (very aggressive game),and i was hurting bad.We won but after the game i was in lots of pain and now i cant bend my wrist back and i feel pain in wrist and that bubble on the thumb part also the back of my hand even when theres no pressure i feel it. I have a game today should i play? and how long should it take to heal and how do i heal it?

*NOTE* Its 1 loss elimination so if i dont play we might lose cause im the point guard, and the games today if we win were in the championship.

  1. you really should talk to your coach or a doctor about this, but i understand the whole sports injury thing. What i have learned is, you aren't a better man for playing through the pain, you could really mess yourself up. especially if you are having trouble moving it as it is now.  You could end up doing serious, potentially permanent damage to joint and the ligaments in your wrist. I know its not the answer you want to hear, but you if you play too soon you could end up really hurting yourself.

Injuries are a reality of sports. There is a chance you might win this next game now, but for the rest of your life you could have problems with your wrist and regret it. my main advice is to go see a doctor and follow their directions about how long you should wait, no matter how bad it sucks. cause i really understand feeling like you are letting the team down and losing the championship all that, but you have to take care of yourself. you are going to have this body for the rest of your life.

  2. You probably shouldn't play today - but do need to see a dr ASAP so you can have a better idea of what's wrong, how soon you can play again and so they can hook you up with any physical therapy that would help your wrist.

  3. i wouldice it for a bit try to play and if you cant dont play because if you try and playyou could injure yourself evern worse and may not be able toever play again

  4. You should see a docotor serisously then if not see the doctor  put ice on it a try to get some rest hope it gets better sorry that happened
