blu-ray takes over dvd? just like dvd took over vhs do you think blu-ray will take over dvd?

well blue ray players are pretty steep in price if blue ray players go down more in price and become more affordable for everyone to get one then yes i think they will

Debatable if Blu-ray will replace DVD or remain what it is now ... a premium priced HD alternative.  You won't get anything other than opinion since no-one knows.

As long as Blu-ray is much more expensive. and a minority of consumers have HDTVs, Blu-ray won't replace DVD. When you consider the disk price differential, relatively small # of movies on Blu-ray, high equipment cost to fully benefit, that many consumers don't feel there is sufficient benefit, and the increasing # of alternatives to view HD movies (not 1080p maybe, but HD nevertheless) Blu-ray has a murky future.
