  1. Never.  Unless something like a meteor hitting Antarctic occurs.  The ice fields of Antarctica are nothing like those of the Arctic.

"The current icy period of Antarctica's history began about 25 million years ago in the Miocene epoch.  The oldest and deepest parts of the ice are believed to be 15 million years old.  The total volume of ice is 7.5 million cubic miles and has pushed the land down about 2,000 feet.  This ice represents 90% of the world's ice and 70% of the world's fresh water. If the ice would totally melt, there would be enough water to raise the level of all the world's oceans by over 200 feet."

There have been 4 Ice Ages with associated warmups of North America in the last million years.  Predicting when a total ice melt would occur is risky and few scientist have made such a predicition.  However, there is significant data to make preditions on an annual bases.

I have seen preditions in the press for an Arctic melt down from 25 to 1000 years.  That's just too large a range.  Perhaps sometime in the future science will be able to make a more reliable prediciton.
