My boyfriend was arrested for robbery on Monday. I have some money to bail him out, but its not the full amount (Bail bondsman is willing to take what I can get.. then will take monthly payments.) So when my boyfriend gets out, all he has to do is attend his court dates, continue paying the monthly payments and just wait until trial? He is guilty, I know that for a fact.. but my question is.. how long until trial? & Once trial comes, he will automatically get put back into jail?

  1. He can have a trial has early as 3 months or you can drag his court dates out, up to about a year at the most.

  2. The speed at which your boyfriend would get a court date depends on many factors, including the court's schedule, the wishes of your boyfriend upon consultation with an attorney, the charge involved, the anticipated duration of a trial if he doesn't plead guilty beforehand, etc.

If you bail him out, he will only be placed back in jail if:  (a) he violates the terms of his bail, (b) he breaks another law and gets a new charge, which would violate terms of bail anyway, or (c) he is convicted and sentenced to confinement.
