  1. 45 at the gate with no delays and then once your in the plane half and hour till u take off

  2. Anywhere from 25 to 60 minutes, depends on the city, airline, airport facilities... you better get on that plane when the first boarding is announced, you never know when the airline decides to take off sans you.

  3. It depends on the size of the plane and the destination.  A good rule of thumb for many airlines in the US is that boarding begins at 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time, with the door closing at 10 minutes before the scheduled time, and the plane departing at takeoff time.  If it's a smaller plane (such as a turboprop or regional jet), they might not board until 20 minutes before.

Larger planes (such as the 747 or 767) might begin boarding at 40 or 45 minutes before to accomodate the extra passengers (especially on international flights, where they may check your passport before boarding).  Regardless, it's probably best to be at the gate and ready to board at 30 minutes before departure, because that's usually about 15 to 20 minutes before they shut the door.

  4. Depends on individual situations, i.e. airport size, number of planes starting simultaneously, weather situation, baggage on board without the passenger having checked-in, minor descrepancies in flight performance, and much more.

  5. The boarding call is heard 30 min. before the door shuts. The door shuts 10 min. before the plane leaves the gate. The plane will leave the gate at the departure time. The plane will take off when ever ATC lets them. I have sat on the taxi way wating for clearance for 3 hours. And sometimes its right away. You never know. Depends on the traffic, fuel, and weather at the departure and arival airports.

  6. Depends on size of the plane, and local airport traffic.

I have been on big planes out of JFK many times. It seems it takes at lest 1 hour from first call to take off.

Then again I have bene on regional jets out of small airports and it seems to take less then about 20 mins.

Somewhere in the middle, maybe 45 mins, is a good estimtate. About 20-30 mins to board, and then another 20 or so for taxi.
