  1. The concert actually started at 8:32. Lines were really long trying to get in and I guess they waited.  By 8 the stadium was only about 1/2 full.  I advise coming in before 730.  The concert ended at 1145 - after an encore.

This was my 1st ever Billy Joel concert.  It was amazing.

Like many others, I also kept thinking Elton John and McCartney would be there.  I'd be very upset if they're there on Friday.  But, I’m sure they will be.  Well, at least I got to see this show.

Word of advice.....park out of Shea, around Roosevelt and 114-108 sts on the streets.  The 7 stops at 111th and it is a short walk from the stadium.  At the meters you can park for up to 2 hours and meters end at 7pm. 1/2 hour for each quarter.  I parked for $.50.  Leaving the stadium it was a mob scene trying to get to the 7 train so my friends and I just walked a few min down Roosevelt to 111th st back to the car.  Didn’t deal with the crowd trying to get through turnstiles or traffic driving out of the lot. (special event parking is $30 at Shea).

Even if you don’t drive and end up taking the 7, I still recommend walking to the 111th st stop.  It is way too crowded trying to get to the 7 after the concert lets out – and you’re going you need to stay till the end.  There is no way you should leave early to beat the rush.

  2. Well it started at 8pm & during the 11 o'clock news it was still going. I assume it ended a little after 3 hours.
