  1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantic_sl...

  2. It depended on the year and the style of the ship and how many stops it had to make.

The Mayflower took 66 days to get to New England through the North Atlantic.  Given that the slavers were much closer to the Equator and the distance to be traveled was greater, you still are probably in the ballpark with that time frame because the slavers used bigger ships and faster ships.   As sailing technology improved, the ships got faster.  One of the McKay sailing ships (the record breakers) made the New York to Liverpool run in less than 17 days in the 1850s.  It was competing against a steam ship and beat it by more than 12 hours.

Again the distance was shorter between NY and Liverpool, but it gives you an idea how much the technology had improved.   In the 1700s a slaver might have taken 45 days to do the crossing.  In the 1800s, maybe 25 days.

  3. It depended whom they were sold to.

    Numerous countries purchased slaves.
