  1. You will usually be out for 8 weeks. I know I got disability for 8 weeks after my c-section.

However, I could have gone back to work after just 2 weeks, if it weren't for the fact that my sleep schedule had been turned on it's ear by a new baby. The trick was to get up out of bed and walk several times a day as soon as I could feel my feet again.

  2. I was out for six weeks, but my friend was out for eight. Good luck!

  3. I went back to work less then 3 weeks after my second one. but with the first one I hurt for weeks and took 9 weeks off

  4. 6-8 weeks unless your doctor feels you are not ready.

  5. it totally depends on your job, I went back to work 10 days later, I only worked one day a week in an medical office. One of our doctors had passed away from cancer, and so I had to help rearrange appointments. That and I was off of work for 6 weeks prior to that. I felt fine, but most people get 6 weeks off and depending on your job you might get up to 12 weeks.

  6. My son was born by emergency c-section at 29 weeks and I went back to work after about 4 weeks, but just for a couple of hours a couple of days a week then went back to sit with my son at the hospital and when he came home I decided to stay home with him.

  7. For me it was 6 weeks...no complications.

  8. To be honest I really didn't feel up to any kind of work/lifting until 12 weeks. Sure I could have started earlier, but I just didn't feel good about it.

Of course, I was having to push myself because hubby deployed 2 1/2 weeks after baby was born and my MIL was only able to stay a week longer after that. That was really tough, especially grocery shopping with a newborn...

  9. Depends on the type of work you do.  If it is just a desk job you can be at that sooner.  If you have to drive then probably 4-6 weeks.  If you have to lift, definitly 6-7 weeks.  It all depends on what you do and how you feel.  The dr. will most likely say 6-7 weeks.  Most women take off 3 months of maternity leave anyways.

    God Bless

  10. It's recommended about 6 weeks or until your doctor okays it. I had my second c-section 3 weeks ago and I'm actually feeling a lot better than my first one. It all depends on how you heal. I still can't lift anything really heavy but if your job doesn't require you to do any really heavy lifting you probably could go back maybe 3-4 weeks afterwards. Just try not to push yourself too hard.

  11. About 8 wks is the average for a c-section, some Dr's will sign a release after 6 wks but most won't sign the release until 8 wks.  My friend was off for 12 wks after hers because the Dr didn't feel she was ready.

  12. In the state of Texas you can take up to 8 weeks or more depending on the person and the company!

  13. at LEAST 8 weeks if you need to lift anything heavy. My doctor told me 6 even for a desk job.
