How long will a 2 stroke 100cc kart engine last?

I am about to buy a 100cc go kart and i am told that the decent race engines don't last long. can anyone tell me how long a standard engine will last even if I'm just driving around my local track every weekend? thanks alot!

with proper care and if you don't over rev or anything it should last a few years. be sure to use the right oil mix and get regular maintenance.

all depends on how you drive them and what type of cart/engine it is...if its a propper racing cart[and not a cheepy or home made joby] then they need rebuilding the same as a pro-motorcross engine...

cheepy ones dont need rebuilding if you take care of them

How long is a piece of string.

What a stupid question.

There isnt a estimated time that any engine will last.

Proper care and attention to the engine should see that it lasts a long time.

i.e  Changing oil, gaskets, etc.
