How long will a Josee reblooming lilac take to flower?

I planted it last fall and it's about a foot high now.

Can I expect it to bloom next year or does it take longer than that?

  1. I planted two of them in spring, 2007, and they're both blooming this summer.  But they're both close to 3 feet tall.  The blooms aren't very big, sometimes just half a dozen little flowers in the cluster.  But they smell wonderful!!

I don't know whether they start blooming after a certain amount of time, or if they have to be a certain height.  I live in Florida, so maybe mine grew quickly because they never froze?
