I was washing my face and the water was really hot and somehow my face touched the faucet and now i have a huge burn mark on it . I can't believe how stupid it was of me to burn it like that . How long do you think it will stay and is it going to scar ? It's bright red right now . Do you think it would be bad to cover it up because tomorrow is the first day of school and i my face looks really bad .

  1. Best not to cover it. It should heal ok, so don't worry. vitaminE cream is helpful and there is some stuff called bio-oil, but I'm not sure if you can use bio oil straight away. If the skin is broken see a doctor and don't put anything on it.

Here is some info on burns: http://www.burnremedies.com/

    bio-oil :

Don't worry it will be fine  :o)

  2. well youre not that stupid cos i held the iron up to my face a couple of weeks ago to see it was heated up yet! lol! and yes i burnt my chin, it blistered slightly then went down, and was a sore red mark for about a week. then went away as they do.....

  3. i know how you feel i have a huge burn mark on my chin from touching a light bulb by accident it hit my face and now there's a huge burn its very notice and school is in 2 days where i live appertaly polysporin help heal it faster and prevents scarring. i thought i was the only one who would manage to get in a burn less then a week away from the first day

  4. As a minor burn not long Fur!

But if you'd applied ice or very cold water for say 20 minutes (a looong time) it would heal and feel better much more quickly, as it tends to limit the damage.  So ice may still help the healing process and salt water is also good for very serious burns.

Fur, I'd say this to all young ladies like yourself - burns, spots stuff like that are really not a big deal to most boys... they'd have to be pretty terrible to make a difference to be honest (boys tend to compare bruises, scars etc. competitively), so if they like you they like you.

I know it's important to you as a girl, but it's likely to be much less important to others.  ; )

Anyway, it sounds like your water is much too hot, and possibly dangerously so.  Speak to your mom and dad and ask them if it's possible to turn the temperature thermostat down by a few degrees, which will help to prevent burns in future and save them money... they'll like that and so will you!

  5. from hot water, your burn mark will go away in a week or two.  I burned myself on an oven about 25 years ago and I you can still kinda see it. Also, I have this lead mark from a pencil in my hand from grade school. It's just below the skin and won't go away.
