  1. Not enough information:

    1) Are the charges state/federal? If state, which state?

    2) Is the person being charged an adult or a child?

    3) Is the person being charged a convicted felon?

    4) Did the person plead no-contest/not guilty/or guilty?

    5) Are there aggravating factors? Was a gun used? Were drugs involved? Etc.

A broad answer is that the person could expect a substantial jail sentence. Roughly 10 years, if not more wouldn't surprise me in the least.  And I'm assuming that you're not in a 3 strikes law and that the person has no previous felonies because if s/he does, then it would be a life sentence.
