  1. they can keep for years

  2. There are two main types of Champagne when it comes to quality and therefore how long will it keep.

    The less expensive Non-Vintage Champagne:

This means there is no vintage (The vintage is the year the grapes used were harvested) on the outside of the bottle.  This Champagne is a blend of several different batches of wine from different years to make it more consistent product.

    The more expensive Vintage Champagne:

When there is a particularly great season for harvesting grapes in the Champagne region they will declare it a vintage year.  And according to French wine making laws as long as the wine producer uses only the grapes that were harvested in the vintage year they can produce and market their wine as a Vintage Champagne.

So to answer your question, the less expensive NV Champagne will only keep for up the 6-8 yrs, while the higher quality Vintage Champagnes can keep from 1-2 decades.

  3. Keep it in the dark, away from extremes of temp and it will last longer than you.

  4. until i find it and drink it/cheers

  5. if you put a tea spoon handle in it it will still be fizzy the next day,but you should always try your best to finish it first time ,enjoy,

  6. Forever....

  7. As long as you want providing it doesn't get too warm, so try and keep it in a dark cool place, e.g. a cellar, transferring it to a fridge before you drink.

  8. I don't know but I had a campagne bottle for over 8 years and it was fine. Be careful though, I don't know if it being old had anything to do with it but that specific bottle, when I removed the aluminum foil covering the cork, the cork popped on it's own!! Thank goodness it was facing the ceiling so noone got hurt!
