How long will cable companies be required to carry analog signals?

If the cable companies drop the analog signals they are currently carrying, then cable customers with an analog TV would have to pay additional for a digital to analog converter box I think.

  1. Yeah. They are dropping all of them in February of 2009. Didn't you know this?

  2. The FCC is requiring cable companies to continue carrying the analog signals of local broadcast stations until 2012, unless they do a complete conversion to digital cable and provide their customers with the necessary set-top box. It varies area to area and with cable company. Try checking with your provider.

  3. It has been said that in the year 2009 all televisions with analog signals will cease from working.  So that means next year the cable companies that carry analog signals will be forced to convert their signals to digital.  Its a shame, because not everyone has a digital television, but I think it has something to do with money.
