How long will dry ice last

i just purchased about 2 pounds of dry ice for about 2 somethin at my grocery store and i used some of it for experiments but have quite a bit left, i was wondering how long it will last? i believe its low density dry ice and i have it in a bag inside of a small styrofoam cooler, dont worry i followed the precautions on the bag and the cooler has a loose lid, loose enough to pop off if sublimation gasses get too presurised but tight enough to contain the cold, so far its going good and the ice is lasting a while, about how long do you think it will last, i have about 15 pieces of choped up ice about the size of a small candle so any suggestions and how long it will last?

i appreciate any answers, thankyou

  1. If you keep air from contacting it, it will last longer.  I wrapped mine in heavy brown paper bags and taped it up, it lasted for about 2 1/2 days while driving back.
