How long will i be able to smoke again after i got my tonsils removed ?

I had my tonsils removed on 8/13/08 and would like to know when can i start smoking again. DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY ANSWERS SAYING U SHOULD QUIT

  1. They say you shouldn't smoke for 2 weeks after your surgery. This is for two reasons: 1. Smoke irritates the wound. 2. Suction (like on a cigarette) causes a difference in pressure in your mouth and may break open your scabs. #2 is the same reason they don't let you use a straw to drink. Have fun with all that liquid vicodin that burns like h**l going down.

  3. You should talk to your doctor about that.

    I doubt it is "tonsil specific" but your doctor would probably know best out of anyone here. Of course, someone else might have some experience with this, so it is in the right place.
