  1. If your teeth are really messed up, or just normal crookedness,

then it would take about two years until you can take them out.

If you're teeth are only a little crooked, it should take

a year to a year and a half. Plenty of time, or just in time.

You're lucky. You will most likely get them off during senior

year, or when senior year starts. :)

After you get your braces off, remember you will normally have

to have a retainer for 1-2 years so your teeth don't

go back to their original position. One year goes

to the teeth who weren't that crooked/normally crooked,

and over one year goes to the really crooked teeth.

In extreme cases, you might get a permanent retainer in which you

will have to wear for the rest of your life; no worries!

It's really rare, and it's not even that bad anyways.

If you have a narrow arch, then you might get spacers

after you get your braces off. Sometimes people

get spacers before and after they get their braces on/off.

Spacers are usually on from 6 weeks-2 years depending

on how bad your arch is.

Now, just pick what applies, and add up the years.

I know the word "years" might make you cringe a little,

but remember that it's all worth it once you have that

    beautiful smile. :)

  2. It sounds like you've got a bit of work to do.

Look all braces are assessed on a case by case basis.

Generally it will take 1.5 - 2 years in total for your treatment, plus another 6 -9 months wearing a plate full time.

But like I said it all depends on how difficult the treatment is - I'd ask your dentist what they think, they'll give you a fairly accurate estimation.

  3. maybe at the end of senior year

  4. I think, because they straighten quicker than you think (my teeth were all crooked 8 months ago, now there straight, even though i need 16 more months) the average amount of time is 2 years.

  5. It took me 4 year, but that's because I had a crappy dentist. Most of my friends had it for 2 years.

  6. i'm no expert but i had the same work done going into my sophomore year of high school. in addition to pulling 2 teeth down, i had a pallate expander as well and although i didn't get my braces off for senior pictures (they were junior year for me) i did get mine off my first semester of my senior year. i would definatly consult with your orthodondist, they're actually a lot more friendly and willing to talk than you might think!

  7. Impacted teeth can slow down treatment (seems like you have some impacted teeth). Only the orthodontist knows for sure. Good luck. I can't believe that they never told you how long they would be on. Well I am going to guess 2-3 years. So, maybe maybe not.

  8. noramly takes 2 years

  9. u will have them on the rest of ur life!!!
