  1. Obama doesn't walk on water, nor can he feed the 5,000

Barry Soretto ( Barack Obama ) IS NOT the man with the plan.

His experience on the world stage & politics in general is 143 days of congress. He has spent more time campaigning that affecting change.

This in some eyes is enough experience to steer the massive ship of state known as the USA.

It isn't the Governments responsibility to correct mistakes made by investing citizens,Unions, corporate greed. It is funny we demand the Government get out of our personal lives, yet demand Government step in when the private sector screws up.

There are no definite answers, however I dare say that Barack Obama will do better in the 2012 elections and will probably become President, however 2008 is NOT Obama's time.

  2. 8 years.  4 years to get through Obama's term and then 4 years for the follow president to actually work to improve the country.  It won't be fixed after 8 years but it will be on the right track.

It could be less if Obama doesn't end up winning.

  3. Quickly I hope. but we have to be somewhat patient.

  4. No matter who wins, it'll take a lot more than the president to correct problems. Congress has a greater say AND a much greater responsibility for the problems we face. A lot of these clowns have been in office since the 60s! If there's blame to place, put it on them not Bush.

  5. Assuming he gets elected of course.

Politicians have always ran for elections on the promise of simple fixes to complex problems.

At the moment it is easy for any candidate to turn round and say they can run the country better and give a few things that they could do to improve things. The problem is that economies and countries are like nets. Subtle differences in one part can have large and unexpected consequences somewhere else.

The problem is that the problems America is now facing are deep rooted. Obama could potentially do a lot to help, but remember that all candidates rely on big business to get elected and so they are always going to be hindered in what they can do.

You mention that America is no longer on the correct path. If you sit down and ask yourself what the correct path actually is then you notice that is never clearly defined.

I don't like Bush, and I am amazed he was even shortlisted for nomination. I am Irish and I have a few American friends and the first thing they said when I met them first was "not all Americans are like George Bush". They do get a lot of slagging every time he messes up

  6. INstant when the magic rainbow of change comes out and everyone realizes that he is inexperienced and realizes that change is not always a good thing. I will get a kick out of when he tries to pay for all the things has promised through out his campain.

  7. by raising my taxes and handing it to you! That should be great. I'll be sure to put in an extra 10 hours a week so you can get that big screen TV you've been eying.

My father is selling his house this year because he fears a huge capital gain tax from this "great" man. He's retiring and needs to downsize. He's not rich, but the kids on here who are voting for Obama are s******g him. Thanks. Nail the old man. He only spent his entire life paying taxes. What hurts him the most is that all these voters don't even know what they are voting for.

  8. Hopefully not too long. A major relief will be instituted once Obama takes office.

  9. It'll take about 8 yrs.  4 for obama's term then another 4 for whoever follows him to fix the mess the last two left him/her.  Obama cannot fix anything that bush goofed up b/c he has no plans that will work, NONE.  He cannot be even partially bipartisan-which may not have any baring after the next congressional elections-and he seems to have no convictions that are his own.

He'll deal with bush's mess by doing whatever the dem party tells him to do.  At least Bush did what HE thought was right, not what some handlers told him to do.  I'll give him credit for being his own man, I cannot give that same credit to Obama.

  10. Obama will surrender this country of the United States to One of his Muslim Daddys like Iran.

  11. None of Obama's Ideas will solve anything....they have all been tried before and failed!

The thing is, just about everything Obama says is the same old 'clap track' we have been hearing from socialist politicians for over 60 years.

"Hillary-care" / Socialized medicine is not new.

"Cripple the Military's Morale" by reducing funding and capabilities is not new.

"Accuse all whites of racism'" is not new.

    "Raise Taxes" is not new.

    "Redistribute Wealth" is not new.

"Amnesty for illegals" is not new.

Create gun control laws contrary to the constitution has been tried before

We already have Affirmative action and racial quota programs the effectively lower standards and have been proven to actually increase predjudice.

Since all of these ideas have been tried and have failed in the past how are these old ideas going to solve all america's problems???
