  1. it might take a really long time because cats love the outdoors it might never get use to it.

  2. How long would it take you to adapt to life if you were in prison for years? Same kind of thing.

  3. Unfortunately for you, probably never, although as they get a lot older they prefer being inside more but still won't like using a litter tray.

Sorry to be a barer of bad news :(

  4. Once the cat lived outside until it gets older it would have to stay outside, because once its born outside and its grow up outside, and if they come inside then they will die.

  5. He probably wont ever get use to it. Once a cat has known the outdoors they HATE being stuck inside all the time. Actually, its almost kinda mean/sad to keep him inside, though i know you have no other option. He'll always miss the freedom of the outside world.

  6. Lets see, all the food you want, nice and dry, warm and cool per season, friendly people wanting to give you lovin all the time, no dogs chasin you, no cars trying to run over you, no oother cats usin you for scratch pad, place bigger than a kennel to run around in, nice clean litter box, someone to take me to a doctor when I am sick, >>>>>>.

Get the point? The cat has it better off thatn being outside as long as you are nice and loving to him. Even if he doesn't know it.

I'm comin back as a cat!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. usually they kill you in your sleep, or break through a screen, or you cant stand it any more and throw them out before you find out how long it will take.

    it will be a while.

  8. I have outdoors cats and once had to live in a small apartment in the middle of town. We were there about 6 months. They got used to being indoors. I will say that I would let them out on the very small porch from time to time (It had a screen door) so they could smell the fresh air.

  9. My Mother's cat was an outdoor cat and he kept getting beaten up by the neighbour's cat.  Clifford was a bit on the dumb side and continued to want outside anyway.  Finally my Mom wouldn't let him out and after a few weeks he finally gave in and became an indoor cat.  There is some hope depending on your cat's personality and how determined you are.  He will probably try to escape each time the door is opened, so be ready and make sure you don't squish him with the door closing quickly behind you!

  10. When I adopted one of my cats from the humane society, she was an outdoor cat. Took her about a week not to run for the door! Now she is perfectly happy being indoors only with my 2 other cats. I've had her for about a year now. When we open the doors, she doesn't even move. She has lots to keep her occupied inside! He will get used to it and will be much safer with you! Just takes a little patience!

  11. awww you cant take the freedom away now probably too used too going outside so dont think it will settle down for a long long time , it  will get frustrated and unsettled even more even tho you have moved areas your cat will get used to the area quite quick think its a good idea to let it have a rome around

  12. How would you feel if you were suddenly thrown into prison half way through your life? That is how the cat feels. Obviously it is deparately unhappy.

    Who knows how long.

    .

  13. A LOOOOOONGGG long time.

In fact it may never never happen.

Sorta like saying your on house arrest...

the freedom is great and being allowed ot be only in one small area will be hard.

He will adjust... but you have to give him things that stimulate his imagination too.

    good luck >^..^<
