Ok I feel offly stupid asking a question like this but,

I have a speeding ticket I need to pre-pay 24 hours before the 18th, if I send it from my home mailbox, will it arrive on time? if not, what are methods to ensure it makes it on time?

  1. Depends on how far it has to travel. If within the same state usually 1-2 days for First Class Mail.

Priority Mail may be a lil faster. Usually if you use this for across the country it sometimes arrives a day or two faster than regular mail. But they have no guarantee date and sometimes it's no better than regular mail.

Express Mail is fastest but will probably cost at least over $10 and costs more for longer distances. I think they give guarantee arrival time and if they don't make it you get a refund.

Best to go to your local PO and ask. But you can do some preliminary calculations here:

You can buy postage online and send it out of your mailbox but I'd recommend going to the PO and taking care of it since it is time-sensitive.
