If I made a call on Jan. 4 at 5pm in 2006, how long will it take for that call to be deleted from my landline phone records? I assume phone compaines have a limited amount of space i.e: 1 year's worth or 6 month's worth.

So when anyone checks my landline records after 1 year or so, will that call I placed in Jan 2006 still be there in my records???

  1. u either ask them or they delete it after u get that month's bill

  2. every company will have diffrent requirements for record keeping. and these records may be maintained in multiple databases. While the service reps may only be able to go back X amount of time, they may store a hard copy, or back up tape of all records as long as they choose to. For tax or dispute reasons they may be required to maintain about 5 years of records, however, they may maintain records indefinitely if they choose.

you would have to call your phone company and ask them how far back the records for your account go.

I would assume that certain records of your account remain from when your account was opened, until several years after your account is closed.

  3. what exactly are you trying to hide?
