How long will it take for my fire-bellied newt to regrow its arm? Also, how do I get it to eat?

He lost half of his forearm, I'm not sure how, but I am wondering how long it will take. I am also worried because he is not eating at all. I just got him about 5 days ago and I have been feeding him three small freeze-dried blood worms per day but every time he just leaves it there and stays in his cave all day. What should I do and should I be worried?

about 1-2months before u start to see an improvement 1-2 years before its fully grown and working

ok try feeding every other day also make sure its easy to get from the water to land (like real easy) try and work out if he got it trapped anywhere and remove any possible dangers otherwise keep up with partial water changes/cleaning routines etc and he should be fine

has he eaten anything in the 5 days you'e had him if not try livefoods such as like bloodworms or chopped earthworms some newts dont eat food that doesn't wriggle  

have u got anything else in the tank he's in because i would keep him by himself till its grown back to reduce stress and food compition
