Next month I’m going on a trip to Australia. I have trip obligations in Perth, but I’d, naturally like to go to Sydney. Now, can you advice me how to cover the distance between those two cities? by train, I think it will be the cheapest one and I can see more sceneries, but I'm really confused for how long will it take by high railway?

  1. By train from Perth to Sydney you would take the Indian-Pacific. This takes 65 hours, nearly three days! It's more expensive than flying but you'll get to see a h**l of a lot of countryside and outback.

    Enjoy!

  2. 3 days (one way).

    about 4,000 kms.

    It's 4 to 5 hours by plane.

  3. Allow 3 days for the train trip. It is long and you will be travelling from one side of Australia across to the other side. Australia is as big as USA minus Alaska and most overseas visitors don't realise how big Australia is.

Travelling by train is not the cheapest way to get from Sydney to Perth. Usually that train trip is done by retirees wanting a leisurely holiday and experience.

Cheaper option might be a bus trip. Still a similar time frame and you still see a lot of the countryside.
