  1. Two hours at the very most unless it's snowing and then it could take two days.

  2. It does depend on the weather - for up to date conditions check the website of the Alberta Motor Association.

The route I would take is to turn off the Trans-Canada Highway at the exit for Gleichen.  This road cuts down the distance and gets you to Calgary at the south end of the city on Hwy 22X.  If you need to get to the north end of the city, take Deerfoot Trail.

Going via the TransCanada all the way makes sense if you need to be north of 16th Ave NW (the TCH), but for downtown and south, I would use the Gleichen way.

It's about 3 to 3.5 hours, depends where in Calgary you need to be.  (284 km, almost all at highway speeds).

  3. The bad news is that it's around 300km from Medicine Hat to Calgary so it'll take around 3hrs.

The good news is that it's on the Trans Canada Highway which is divided all the way and has a speed limit of 110km/h so it gives you a little leeway to go faster.

  4. Mapquest says three hours, for 180 miles, but seems to be acting up as far as showing the map.

    Going to a hockey game?
