  1. Call the airline you are flying and ask them for the specific flight time. Different airlines take different routes, so, only the airline YOU are flying can accurately answer this question for you. Have a safe flight!

btw, I live near Orlando and have used that airport many times. So far as large airports go, this one is one of the most user-friendly I have ever been in, is fairly easy to get in and out of, and is well run. If you're coming here soon, you couldn't ask for better weather - it's been a bit cool at night (by Florida standards - in the 50's), but the days have been wonderful, in the 80's and low humidity.

  2. Well, travelling from Madrid to Orlando took me about 9 hours; there´s an hour flight between Alicante to Madrid, so let´s say it will take about 10 hours.

      Have a safe trip!!

  3. The touristic nature of both Orlando (ORL) and Alicante (ALC) make services to these cities has a special flavour. Therefore, it is hard to find a major airline providing connecting services between these two points through a hub. The only major airline providing connecting service is British Airways (BA) through London Gatwick (LGW) airport (the airline's secondary hub used usually for touristic destinations). The flight from ORL to LGW takes about 8 hours 5 minutes, and from LGW to ALC it takes about 2 hours 25 minutes (flights operated by affiliate airline GB Airways). With a minimum 5 hours 40 minutes of connecting time, you should expect the whole trip to be not less than 16 hours 10 minutes long.

There are another two airlines offering connecting services from ORL to ALC. The first one is the Scottish airline "flyglobespan" (Y2). It offers connecting services through Glasgow (GLA). The strange thing about it too is that it flies from Sanford airport (SFB) in Orlando, not from Orlando International. From SFB to GLA, it takes about eight hours. With a minimum connection of 6 hours 45 minutes, and a flight from GLA to ALC of three hours 5 minutes, the whole trip should take not less than 17 hours 50 minutes.

The other airline is the German airline LTU International Airways (LT). The connection point here is Dusseldorf (DUS). The trip portions are: ORL-DUS 8 hours 50 minutes; connection 6 hours 40 minutes; DUS-ALC 2 hours 35 minutes. Minimum trip time is 18 hours 5 minutes.

Other options? Yes. Most airlines serving ALC are low-cost airline or tour operators who usually have an internet booking site in addition to possibility of reservation through regular booking systems. Some airlines serving ORL are also so. So you can purchase two tickets easily over the net, but you have to watch for the time you need to connect one flight to another. Here are ALL the options, including the ones mentioned above.

To Amsterdam (AMS) by Martinair Holland (MP), then by Transavia Airlines (HV) to ALC. Minimum 13 hours 45 minutes.

To Bogota (BOG) by American Airlines (AA), then by Avianca (AV) to ALC. Minimum 38 hours 3 minutes.

To Bristol (BRS) by Continental Airlines (CO), then by Easyjet (U2) to ALC. Minimum 15 hours 30 minutes.

To Dussledorf (DUS) by LTU International Airways (LT), then by Air Berlin (AB) or LTU International Airways (LT) to ALC. Minimum 12 hours 10 minutes.

To Edinburgh (EDI) by Continental Airlines (CO), then by Easyjet (U2) or flyglobespan (Y2) to ALC. Minimum 17 hours 23 minutes.

To Frankfurt (FRA) by Condor Flugdienst (DE) or US Airways (US), then by Air Berlin (AB) to ALC. Minimum 26 hours 45 minutes.

To Glasgow (GLA) by flyglobespan (Y2), then by Easyjet (U2) or flyglobespan (Y2) to ALC. Minimum 17 hours 50 minutes.

To London (LON) by British Airways (BA), Continental Airlines (CO) or Virgin Atlantic Airways (VS), then by Air Berlin (AB), bmi british midland (BD), British Airways (BA), Easyjet (U2), Iberia (IB), Monarch Airlines (ZB) or Spanair (JK) to ALC. Minimum 11 hours 35 minutes.

To Manchester (MAN) by Continental Airlines (CO) or Virgin Atlantic Airways (VS), then by bmibaby (WW), Jet2.com (LS) or Monarch Airlines (ZB) to ALC. Minimum 17 hours 5 minutes.

To Paris (PAR) by Delta Air Lines (DL), United Airlines (UA) or US Airways (US), then by Air Europa (UX) or Air France (AF) to ALC. Minimum 24 hours 50 minutes.

To Stockholm (STO) by US Airways (US), then by Sterling (NB) to ALC. Minimum 25 hours 30 minutes.

All this data is based on summer schedule of the airlines. It might differ greatly in the winter, so you have to check most up-to-date resources. But I hope the above is helpful as a beginning.
