  1. If you don't panic and listen to  the instructor, you should learn it very quickly.

  2. Of course, the moment I was told what to do, I did it immeditaly.

  3. It actually took me several months to learn it.  Believe it or not, I can now float upright in water with my legs dangling straight down and my arms straight out on the surface of the water.  I don't move any part of my body except my hands once in a while just for balance purposes which I could do for several hours if I wanted to.  Good luck!

  4. I am 12 right now and i learned when I was like nine....it isn't that hard...20 minutes tops.

  5. to learn how to tread water it will take you about 30 seconds (if you already know how to swim.

to learn how to egg beat (the kind of water-treasing you do for water polo) it could take you like 10 minutes  if you have someone to show you.

so basically youl be able to get it down right away.

just stay upright, like your sitting in a chair, move your legs in circles (each leg with its own circle, in different directions) and move your arms back and forth in front of you.

  6. In one short session if you are already proficient in your breast-stroke kick capable of fast 25-30laps non-stop swim. About 2-3 months if you are just a basic or average breast-stroke swimmer capable of 2-5 laps continuous swim.

There are two versions of sculling and kicking. Using the normal breast-stroke arm pull and figure-of-eight sculling; and the normal kick or the egg-beater variety. Water-treading skill is essential  if you wish to become a life-guard or water-polo player and can also be used for certain situations during an emergency. It is an interesting but tiring skill. You will feel very satisfied once you have mastered it.

Cheers and keep up your young passion!!

  7. Treading water is the easiest thing I learned in swimming, it probably will not take long at all since it comes so naturally to a lot of people.

  8. i would guess about under 10minutes isnt hard to learn its easier then learning a swimmming stroke
