How long will it take to drive from Rome to Bordeaux?

My family and I will be driving though Italy and France, these being our 2 Main destinations. Can we make it in a few days with a bit of sightseeing or will we being rushing through?

You won't be able to make such a trip (Rome -> Bordeaux) in less than two full days with 2 drivers : 1500 km + traffic jams...

It will take for-freakin-ever.  Just take one of those puddle jumper flights if you can.  Otherwise, give yourself at least a week.  Driving in Italy is a blast.  You'll enjoy the roundabouts!  :D
