I'm waiting for confirmation from the school to see if I get accepted or not to a University in NZ. I'm a U.S. citizen, and I applied early December like the site said, it's just that customs decided to hold my application for 10 DAYS!! It got to the University late and now they're on the Holiday break. They won't get back until the 7th of January. I applied for the February semester. Now I'm worried I will run out of time for a student visa.

I know I have to send my visa application to the embassy in Washington D.C., but the immigration site that the peak times are in December/January and May/June.

But does anybody know a ballpark amount of time it'll take for a student visa to get processed?

  1. unfortunately it is holidays season, so it will delay the process a bit, as soon as you get your acceptance at the University, send your application in, if all goes well? it should not take long, the consulates services as well as the school know about dead line and start of classes, so if within your application everything fits? i would say about 1 week or so?

    in the mean time? double check everything within your application, to make sure all is included and no mistakes anywhere in your application;

  2. longggg

  3. after you get  the acceptance letter from your school .....you will be able to apply for your visa at the NZ embassy and this will take maybe 10 days or maybe just a week if you tell them that you don't have enough time..........I think you will make it before the start of your classes...don't worry
