How long will it take to get from a 4.7 40yardash to a 4.4?

ok my 40 yard dash is know a 4.7 from a 5.1 im 16 im a freshmen running back know how long do u think would it take to get to a 4.7 to a 4.4?

  1. It's unlikely you ever will get to a 4.4.  Quickness is more in your genes than a developed trait.  Some people are born with the ability and some are not.  You could work very hard and probably the best you'll get is another tenth knocked off that 40 time.  A 4.4 is not realistic.


  2. It's not possible to know in this context if you ever will or won't.  It is not purely a function of time.

  3. I agree with NdMagic to an extent. you are past puberty and growth spurts and things so you shouldn't be far from topping out. But if you want to run 4.4 you just need to practice alot of sprints, take offs and such, make wind sprints of 50 yards your work out. do it for work out and keep doing it when your legs are tired. That should build up a little more strength. If you have any excess body fat you can shed then shed it. Mix in some squat work and super cats. good luck

  4. With just a few running adjustments especially in technique , you can bring it down to a 4.4 in 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 years with no problem , but it requires diligence on your part and listening to everything your coaches tell you . Good luck , it can be done
