How long will it take to get to a swimmers build from about a stone overweight?

Bearing in mind i go to college full time and work 3 times a week...

im willing to go on the necessary diet and spend hours in the gym and pools after college, but realistically how long will this take?

  1. if you eat sensible and try and excercise every day even just doing some sit ups in the morning that helps.

    Always excercise on an empty stomach


  2. If you're only a stone overweight, probably not too long. My guess is within 2 months time you'll see some pretty solid results. Within 6 months, you should really start to look different, and within a year be totally ripped up! If you swim on a regular basis (follow up with some light weights and crunches if you have time) and do some other aerobic training when you can't make it to the pool, you can probably hope to lose around 1/2 kg a week and build muscle in the process. I recommend doing a lot of shoulder and ab exercises, as it will help to accentuate the typical swimmer's triangular upper body. As far as diet goes, vegetables along with chicken or fish is always great for post workout recovery, give your body some whole grains a couple of hours before and some fruit shortly before your workout and that will help your quest.   3. probably quite a while, but if you're going to do it, swimming is the best way as it uses all your muscles.
