  1. It took us many months to get the Consular Report of Birth Abroad and Passport and a Passport.  There is a requirement in the Philippines that a birth certificate be on "official paper".  A hospital birth certificate isn't adequate.

If you are an American and if your spouse is a Filipino, then, your child is a "dual-citizen", and you will probably be able to get a Philippine passport for your child, available in most major cities. But, there, too, you will need to have the birth certificate on "official paper, which can take several weeks.

  2. I think that is a good question to ask at the US Consular Office when you see them.

  3. oct? it will be too short to report a birth abroad and received a passport. many things need to be done ahead of time.

first thing to do, if you have not? is to report his birth to the consulate of US in the Philippines,

you need to be registered first as an US citizen in the Philippines,(you are an US citizen ?

i assume by your writings?) you may do all of this at the same time,

original birth certificate (yours, his, father(if it is the case?)

    marriage certificate(if it applies)
