They're always saying if it isn't fixed in 10 years, we're doomed. They've been saying that for years.

  1. life wont end if global warming isnt stopped... its stupid propaganda to get us to stop.. we might have to lose some of our luxuries and the prices will soar but we wont dieeeeeeee.. itll be like an economic depression but not lol

  2. A couple of million more years. No one's going to die from "global warming".

  3. 1 minute

  4. In 10 years the global warming crisis will have passed and a brand new crisis will have emerged.  Of course they will need billions of dollars and more control over our lives to fix it, as always.

  5. Life will continue just as it did after all the other previous changes in the planet's weather.

Ahh for the good old days, when the next global death was to be caused by the hole in the ozone (we're all supposed to be dying from radiation poisoning by now), or global cooling (New York was to have been covered by glaciers by now) or the killer meteorites (yup, we're supposed to be dead or will die real soon).

  6. Live on Earth is probably good for at least several hundred million years.

Now, if we allow global warming to run unabated, we're likely to see hundreds or thousands of species of flora and fauna go extinct.  Also the quality of life for humanity is likely to see an undesirable decline.

What kind of world do we want to leave to our grandchildren.

  7. 1 second boooooooom ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

  8. 2130

  9. Personally I think the global warming freaks, whacko enviromentalists and socialist liberals would sit down and shut it for once.

After all, most of them only complain about the problem but have few helpful suggestions. And those that do join some kind of group seem to get off on being a part of something, but despite the conservation of energy, recycling, carbon footprint hoax that's making people like Al Gore rich, there hasn't been a single idea to effectively replace gasoline or oil. Furthermore these fools seem to think its the place of Big Oil to find an alternative. Now lets think about that...a company has a legal and effective product, and senators and other mental midgets are telling them to find a different source of energy. Isn't that what exploration, science and government (working for the people for once) is suppose to do ? Why would i build a company just to have some slacker tell me how to run it , what products i can use or sell , or tell me I had to develope something to put myself out of my current business.

you want to save the world....assuming your premis is right that it even needs saving, how about a car turn in program to all electric ? Why do they cost $100k a piece ?

Why are socialists so determined to destroy corporate America when all regimes of socialism have failed in the past all over the world by imposing taxes, limitation, stiffling growth, restricting products.

Stop the hoax, stop the anti American's that want to bring America down through they whack enviormental hype.

do you realize you've killed people by using inferior products through limitations ? Think the space shuttle Columbia disaster. Do you agree we should be starving the world with absorbadant food prices all because some whacko got it in his head to use food for fuel ? The "corporate greed" that these people think are destroying the world are themselves destroying it with their unchecked and irrational movement.

  10. forget about it... gosh people are so paranoid!... I am going to go out and buy a huge SUV... and drive everywhere... what will that do... oh yeah... nothing... global warming is c**p... I do believe that I still have exremely long winters that get to -40 on a good day... s***w this idea!...

  11. there is no man made global warming, the earth's temp has never been constant.  will it get hotter, possible, will it get colder, possible, but no one really knows until after the data is calculated., hence after the warmup/cooldown has occured.  We are actually in a cooldown stage right now after about a ten year warmup.

  12. The next famine, societal collapse,  and disaster has been predicted to be "any minute now" for centuries. A few examples:

"The battle to feed all of humanity is over.  In the 1970's

and 1980's hundreds of millions of people will starve

to death in spite of any crash programs embarked upon now."

    - Paul Ehrlich wrote that in the beginning of his 1968 The Population Bomb.

According to Ehrlich, the United States would see its life expectancy drop to 42 years by 1980 and the nation's (U.S.) population would drop to 22.6 million by 1999. And for England, Ehrlich said the following: "If I were a gambler, I would take even money that England will not exist in the year 2000."

In 1975, Paul Ehrlich and his biologist wife, Anne Ehrlich, predicted that "since more than nine-tenths of the original tropical rainforests will be removed in most areas within the next 30 years or so, it is expected that half of the organisms in these areas will vanish with it." It's now 33 years later and nowhere near 90 percent of the rainforests have been cut.

Nevertheless, Ehrlich is still considered an expert by many (like Al Gore) and a few years back received a $250,000 prize from the Heinz Foundation for his writings about population and nuclear war. James Hansen also received a prize from the Heinz foundation for the same amount.

At the first Earth Day celebration, in 1969, environmentalist Nigel Calder warned, "The threat of a new ice age must now stand alongside nuclear war as a likely source of wholesale death and misery for mankind." C.C. Wallen of the World Meteorological Organization said, "The cooling since 1940 has been large enough and consistent enough that it will not soon be reversed."

In 1972, a report was written for the Club of Rome warning the world would run out of gold by 1981, mercury and silver by 1985, tin by 1987 and petroleum, copper, lead and natural gas by 1992. Harrison Brown, a respected member of the National Academy of Sciences, published predictions in Scientific American in 1970 which estimated that humanity would totally run out of copper by 2000, and that lead, zinc, tin, gold, and silver would all be gone by 1990.

Gordon Taylor, in his 1970 book "The Doomsday Book," said Americans were using 50 percent of the world's resources and "by 2000 they [Americans] will, if permitted, be using all of them."

In 1975, the Environmental Fund took out full-page ads warning, "The world as we know it will likely be ruined by the year 2000."

Harvard University biologist George Wald in 1970 warned, "... civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind." That was the same year Sen. Gaylord Nelson warned, in Look magazine, that by 1995 "... somewhere between 75 and 85 percent of all the species of living animals will be extinct."

In 1939, the U.S. Department of the Interior said American oil supplies would last only another 13 years. In 1949, the secretary of the interior said the end of U.S. oil supplies was in sight. In 1974 the U.S. Geological Survey advised us that the U.S. had only a 10-year supply of natural gas.

So how many of these predictions has occured? 0.

What is to be taken from all of this? Doom and gloom has been predicted for ages, and, much more often than not, these predictions never come to pass.

  13. We already are at the tipping point now. If not stopped soon, it would be the point of no return. And the effects, it won't last several days, or weeks, months, or a few years. It will last for centuries. Climate change is not something new, it was a topic even in the 70s and 80s-well BEFORE Al Gore's preachings for doubters, but no one listened to it until now. The toll is projected to be disasterous in the near future, that means several decades from now.

In the future, the doomsday scenario is predicted to be that from all corners of the world, some parts will face killer heat waves and droughts while other parts will come under torrential flooding and uninhabitable freezing temperatures. Forest fires will become even more commoplace. With longer/even hotter summers and milder winters, it could potentially collapse biodiversity and the ecosystem:

The lowlying remote islands will be the first to be inundated, with the coastlines of many countries facing the same as the sea levels rise. That means major cities, infrastructures, that will leave tens of millions displaced.

A warmer climate will allow infectious diseases and diseases that are dormant in the tropical areas to migrate into the upper and lower hemispheres.

Due to infectious diseases, it can potentialy cause widespread pandemics.

It will also allow pests to thrive and multipy exponentially. That means hordes of rats, mosquitoes, Africanized killer bees, army ants, locusts (which could easily swarm in the trillions, the ground will crawl and the sky will be blotted out). Many can be carriers of disease.

Billions of people could starve when there's massive crop failure if the world's climate is altered and/or when crops becomes overrun by pests.

Millions of people depend on snowfall for their water, and may be faced with thirst. As the upper altitudes warm, there will be less or no snow at all. That could result in war and conflict over water.

Many countries would be overwhelmed by climate refugees.

Infrastructure would be overwhelmed to the point of collapse when the power generators give out from so many air conditionings running.

There could be war over resources and land, and everyday will be a struggle for survival. People will turn against one another, there will be uprisings, you name it.

Disaster can strike quick and without warning, such as the rapid melt of permafrost, and a sudden massive release of carbon, whatever...

There are some theories that warming will actually cool the planet, though I forgot the details. Or the world might not turn into an oven, but we'll make our own little ice age (like Day after Tomorrow).

How long will the Earth last? Earth will still be around for another 5-10 billion years, but we might not. War, pestilence, famine, death...sounds just like the Four Horsemen unleashed to ravage the world.

  14. Everyone needs to watch this video on youtube ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDsIFspVz...

  15. according to the scientists.... global warming has been changing over the past million years or so. sometimes it will be bad and sometimes it wont... the theory of global warming is just a way for alGore to get attention and money,,,,,, dont be fooled by him or hollywood we should be more worried about our galaxy colliding with the andromedia galaxy then our sun blowing up and we fall into a black hole and then our galaxy would be small enough to fit into a shoe box..... adn since the earth has been formed every 100 millioon years or so a meteor about 5 miles or so wide has been attracted to us by our gravatational pull and were on the 103 millionth year.... were due and no one will live through it not even the cockroaches out earth will turn into molten lava once again

  16. it does NOT EXIST!!!! we have not died from it yet!!! and the earth has been here for 6,000 years. studies show that no big climate change has happened.

Al Gore is FULL OF c**p!!!! he isnt a scientist.

  17. 2020 i guess when it hits us hard but we wont die but we need to stop or your kids will never no what its like to go outside without getting burnt and prices will soar

  18. upto 2012 december or may be earlier to this limits

  19. You have to remember that all the findings are based on about 150 years of research..Thats when we started taking records of the earth..At least written records...So the research that has been done is based on a 150 year life span...The earth is billions of years old...How can we make these opions on such a short term...They say greenland the ice is melting...Why is it called greenland when it was coverd with ice and snow???Humm makes you wonder doesn,t it...People like Al Gore a making millions of dollars scaring people by telling them the world is ending...It,s all a scam!!!!!

  20. 2016 its over

  21. Doomsday has been postponed yet again.  A study that came out in Nature (a very pro AGW magazine), said that cooling oceans has lead to a revision of the climate models, and they do not expect any warming for the next ten years.

According to the AGW theory temperature rises from co2 alone, without any feedbacks is small, about one degree over the next century.  Where the catastrophic warming is suppose to come in, is from a positive feedback or amplification of co2.  Positive feedbacks relies on the continuous warming of the oceans.  Warming oceans omit more co2.

The problem is that the oceans are not warming, they are cooling.  We can not get a positive feedback if the oceans are cooling.  That is why this particular modeler, based in Germany and had their report published in Nature, has to revise their forecasts.

NASA has also reported that a shift in the PDO, will also lead to cooling in the upcoming years (they did not give a time line) http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Newsroo...

  22. time to sprinkle some real facts on some of the silly answers here.

GW will not cause mass death on earth, although some tropical diseases may increase their range north and south a little.

frank m : the ice core record goes back 450,000 years, from this record can be calculated not only Co2 levels but rough temps from oxygen isotopes and beryllium-10 (going back~1000 years) gives the output of the sun.

  23. 1975   That was when we were all going to die from pollution.  You were never born and just dont know it
