How long will my piercing site be swollen?

I'm getting a nose or lip (most likely nose, just a stud in the left nostril). I have school pictures on September 3rd. Will it be all red/swollen or anything still then? Or will it look fine? Please help!

When i had my nose done i got (as well as a few other people i've seen with them) this little bubble thing by it kind of like a zit that was around the piercing that might be there. My friend had a monroe done and she had swelling for quite awhile too...well it was red around it anyhow and it looked like she had a zit on her face until you saw it was sparkly. I dont know if i would get it before pictures just to be safe.

it wud be fine by then, swelling stays for at most 2-3 days..

It shouldn't be swollen unless you get an infection. As long as you keep it clean and use plenty of H2Ocean then you will be alright.

kay well it all depends on how you take care of it.

if you get your lip.

no alcohol, or acid-y foods.

if you get a hoop, its really big,

if you get a stud, looks like a zit on your face even after two days.

nose piercings get this weird bubble from pressure being applied to the cartilage in your nose.

if you get a piercing before your photos take good care of it

Lip piercing

Use Bactine, you can get it at walmart, and when you eat anything afterwards do half water, half Listerine and wash your mouth out.

don't wear any makeup around the piercing til it heals.

Nose piercing

Clean it with qtips and use bactine!

It should be fine in 2 days. I did my own (nose) once and it never got red or anything. So youll be fine!

i dont think you should; cuz i wouldnt want to risk it yenno? but instead you can get like a fake one or like a "bindi" they have them at indian stores, theyre kinda like stickers or small "diamond" accents BUT you can soo pull it off like you got it pierced cuz it looks like a little stud.

it varies from person to person. some people's piercing are swollen for a few weeks, whilst others are never swollen at all! :)
