How long will my swimmers ear last?

a couple of days ago, I got swimmers ear. I hadn't been swimming but the doctor said it was due to not cleaning and drying my ears after my showers. I went to the doctors yesterday, and he gave me drops. I had 2 sets of drops yesterday and one today so far. Jow long should this be with me?

Well i had it once for about 2 weeks, it was no fun, since I'm a competitive swimmer year round.

But heres what i did, i have toughed out all of them that i had gotten since, and now i havent had swimmers ear in about 2 years.
