I own a new body style automatic 99' chevy silverado 1500 reg cab v6. it has around 87000 miles on it and only has a problem with the gas gauge not measuring. i just bought it and idk if i should trade it in for a later model f150 like a 2003 or 2004 but if i do it would have to be standard because of price. i want to keep this truck for about 6 more years and only have warranty for about 8 more months and already have done some investing.i really like they way the f150's look compared to the Chevy's. 1. Both Ford and Chevy are giving great discounts on new trucks these days.  With the price of gas being so high, sales of the full size pick ups are off.

When you consider a new truck, think about the use of it.  If you are pulling heavy loads or running around with the bed full of material or parts, you may want to consider getting the V-8 engine.  I have the 5.4L 3 valve engine in mine.  It has 300 HP and does a fine job.

    good luck with it.
